More About Aeration & Over Seeding
"Aeration
is one of the few things you can do to a lawn that isn’t stressful
and actually helps turf develop a deeper, stronger root system,"
says Richard Borland, service manager, Bluebird International.
Aeration is one of the
easiest and best ways to open up and air out compacted soil. It
also allows needed nutrients access to the root zones.
There are actually many
benefits by aerating your lawn. If your soil has been compacted
you make more room down by the turf roots by pulling up those core
plugs. Another benefit is by leaving the cores on the turf, you
bring fresh soil to the surface. Lastly aeration will break down
thatch or dead grass that may be in the lawn. |
